We open with questions from Conservative MP the committee chair, who leads the panel.
She commences by providing context to the leaked memo authored by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.
"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting this way or that way, My only wish is for it straight, impartial and equitable," he states.
Upon being questioned if he believes the BBC is systematically partial, Prescott responds: "No I don't. It is important to note, numerous aspects the BBC produces is exceptional - encompassing factual and entertainment programming."
Nevertheless, he states: "There remains real work that must be undertaken at the BBC."
A further former external British Broadcasting Corporation specialist questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it maintains a "persistent practice and lively discussion" on evolving and intricate topics.
"Was the BBC prepared to engage in a genuine dialogue and debate and act accordingly?" she asks herself. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
