Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
