'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith continues contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he remembers the nail-biting final moments of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear following the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful effort from distance, and his teammate immediately converted the deflection before charging toward the crowd to celebrate, with fans congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

This capped an unbelievable comeback given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. During the delirium, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a fan trying to get our attention and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The victory secured a fourth-round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a team Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's long-range effort from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that distance," says Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right flank after they changed tactics. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the attacker was among the City players who complimented the way Orient approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Physically they are outstanding but even the basics and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It appears that they always find their target and they are adept at control and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even seeing. You have to be alert every second of the game. It requires a tough attitude and focus just to remain competitive."

New Chapter

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at his former club and has swiftly done the same in south Wales. At Orient he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a temporary move at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without serious challenge. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has shown that maturation for both domestically and internationally, excelling for his national side, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including two matches fixtures against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's former international manager, offered the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This represents an incredible journey for the player from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who used to see his father, his father, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's sole appearance for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a continental tournament trip to Astana, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the arena covering was shut owing to temperatures of freezing cold. "It was a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he recalls, chuckling. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Leaving United

How hard was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved quite easy, because I got to the stage where I realized I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm extremely thankful for the experience gained but it got to the point where I felt I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Before his recent move to the local area, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's so-called player transport, a small coach driven by team personnel, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to socialize with the lads but I'm planning to be the following person to stop using the bus and behind the wheel. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on the Tube after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
