Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying protection systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.
