The House Oversight Committee has released a collection of roughly 70 photographs from the estate of former convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This constitutes the latest in a series of release from a cache of over 95,000 photographs the body has secured from Epstein's estate. It contains images of excerpts from the novel Lolita scrawled across a woman's body, and redacted images of women's international passports.

This disclosure arrives hours before the 19 December due date for the Justice Department to release all documents related to its investigation into Epstein.

"These latest photos pose additional questions about what exactly the Department of Justice has in its holdings," said the Democratic lead of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What is in the Photographs Disclosed

Some of the photographs released on recently feature Epstein speaking with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky on a personal aircraft; Bill Gates standing beside a woman whose face is obscured; Steve Bannon sitting at a workstation across from Epstein, and ex- Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.

These are the newest high-net-worth, prominent figures to be pictured in Epstein estate photographs released by the committee - formerly released images also include US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, previous US treasury secretary Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and additional individuals.

Showing up in the images is is not considered indication of any misconduct, and several of the featured figures have asserted they were never involved in Epstein's criminal activity.

In a press release accompanying the photograph publication, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate did not supply context or timings for the pictures.

"Photos were selected to provide the general populace with transparency into a typical cross-section of the photographs acquired from the property, and to provide perspectives into Epstein's associates and his exceptionally alarming actions," the statement says.

The publication also contains a number of photographs of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita written in dark ink across different parts of a female's body, such as her upper body, foot, pelvis, and back. Lolita recounts the tale of a adolescent who was exploited by a adult literature professor.

A particular passage from the novel inscribed across a female's torso states, "Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the mouth to alight, at three, on the teeth".

Additionally, there are a number of photographs of women's identification and ID papers from nations globally, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

Most of the information on the papers, including names and dates of birth, is censored but the committee stated in a press release that the passports are associated with "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were involved with".

An additional image shows Epstein seated at a table intimately in the company of three female figures whose faces have been censored - a first has her hand on Epstein's torso under his garment, and another is bending to look at a adjacent device. Epstein seems to be assisting the third individual put on a piece of jewelry.

Another photograph made public is a screenshot of SMS messages from an unidentified sender who says they have been supplied "a number of girls" and are demanding "$one thousand dollars for each individual".

Photo Disclosure Comes Before DOJ Cut-off

The body has many thousands of images in its possession from the Epstein property, which are "both explicit and everyday," its announcement on recently explained.

The Congressional committee first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who passed away in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while facing trial on charges of sex trafficking crimes, in August.

The photos and documents the Epstein property gave to the body are distinct from what is largely called "the Epstein documents". Those are records under the Department of Justice's possession related to its separate investigation into Epstein.

Under the Transparency Act, which the President enacted in November, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to release its records. The full nature of what's included in the DOJ's files is unknown, and it's expected that a significant portion of the material will be heavily censored, akin to the committee's releases
